Breast History

Learning a little about breast history can help women learn more about themselves and their sexuality. When diagnosed with breast cancer, this becomes all the more important. In terms of sciences' contribution to this disease, the history of breast cancer is not a long one. Most of the cases diagnosed began to increase in the 1950s and 1960s, also with the increase in industrialized society and processed foods. This new history of breast implants for the woman may be a new one, but it's one that will help replace the diseased tissue that has been removed, making the woman look and feel just as she had before. For many women, this is a necessary follow up to her breast cancer removal in order to move on either their lives.

Of course, we can not deny the history of bare breast fashion in relation to breast cancer either. Many photographers and charities have begun to show pictures of the breasts of cancer survivors as a way to increase awareness of the disease. These tasteful pictures remind us that women with this terrible disease can recover and move on, just as beautiful as ever.
