Breast Cancer Causes

Breast cancer is as simple as breast cells growing abnormally, mainly in areas of the milk-producing ducts of an increasing number of North American women. Breast cancer causes are relating to about 5% to 10% being inherited related. Defects in two genes—the BRCA1 and BRCA2—have been found to be connected to developing breast and ovarian cancer, along with CHEK-2 and the p53 tumor suppressor gene making it more likely for breast cancer to grow, develop, and destroy women’s lives.

But the causes of breast cancer for the remaining women will develop due to radiation exposure, exposure to cancer-causing chemicals, with research presently being done to connect the genetic make-up to environmental factors. So obviously, the cause of breast cancer is not a simple answer to the question, “What causes breast cancer?”

Breast cancer cause is varied, with many unknown factors involved. Research has shown that tobacco and charred red meat have an ingredient called “polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons” which causes cell mutation. It also shows that chest radiation therapy during childhood or early sunburns cause a higher risk factor for breast cancer than those who are not exposed. Mammograms are another changing results with the question asked, “Can mammograms cause breast cancer?”. At one time women had to have a mammogram which in December of 2007 changed for the better as far as hi-tech technology went. In a study of more than 40,000 women, it was found that computer bases digital pictures were considered to be more beneficial to young women who had the most dense breast tissue and premenopausal conditions.
